1st place for our 2025 Riesling “Estate” at Falstaff

In the current Falstaff tasting “Trophy Gutsriesling 2025”, 56 estate Rieslings from the 2025 vintage were assessed according to different stylistic categories. The overall view of the vintage is already very positive: Falstaff describes 2025 as a year that has produced outstanding estate Rieslings across Germany’s wine-growing regions.

Our 2025 Riesling “Estate” stood out in the category “Herbal spice and texture: firm, demanding, and direct” and achieved 1st place.

This category represents Rieslings with herbal, ethereal aromas and a dense, often slightly phenolic structure on the palate. In the tasting note for our Riesling “Estate”, Falstaff writes: “Herbal on the nose, lemon balm, elderflower, with aeration also chalky-spicy notes. Very calm and balanced on the palate. Suppleness and phenolics interlock.”

We are very pleased about this wonderful recognition for our Riesling “Estate”, which for us is the calling card of our estate each year and the entry point into the origin of Westhofen.
